Estimate when pet supplies may run out
Estimate days until a pet supply runs out, 30.4-day household use, and package equivalents from your current stock and observed daily usage.
Estimate when a regularly used pet supply may run out from the amount currently on hand and your own recent daily use. Enter quantities in the same unit throughout (for example, grams, milliliters, or pieces). The tool does not set a recommended stock level.
Enter stock and observed household use, then calculate.
Method: days until depleted = current amount ÷ household use per day; 30.4-day usage = daily use × 30.4; package equivalent = 30.4-day usage ÷ amount per package. Package equivalents are not rounded to purchase whole packages. Assumes use stays constant and ignores spills, spoilage, changing needs, safety stock and package leftovers.
Use a recent, representative usage rate and update the estimate when use changes. For food quantities and label context, see the pet food budget guide and the dog food cost calculator or cat food cost calculator. For annual household categories, use the annual budget by pet worksheet. ASPCA's general care resources cover varied pet-care topics; they do not provide a universal usage rate for supplies. Product referrals are inactive.

How it works
Enter the amount currently on hand, your household’s daily use, the quantity per package, a unit, and the date to start the estimate. Use the same quantity unit for all amounts.
Good to know
How does the restock estimate work?
It divides current stock by household daily use for estimated days until depletion. It also multiplies daily use by 30.4 for a monthly quantity and divides that quantity by the package size.
Does this tell me how much to buy or keep in reserve?
No. Package equivalents are fractional arithmetic, not a purchase recommendation. Choose any reserve based on your own circumstances and product instructions.
What if daily use changes or is zero?
The estimate assumes the entered rate stays constant. If use is zero, the tool reports no depletion date and zero projected 30.4-day use. Update the rate when household use changes.

days until depletion = current amount on hand ÷ household use per day; 30.4-day usage = household use per day × 30.4; package equivalent = 30.4-day usage ÷ amount per package
- current_stock (visitor-selected quantity unit): Current supply amount on hand.
- household_daily_use (same quantity unit per day): Observed household use per day.
- package_quantity (same quantity unit per package): Amount in one package.
- estimate_start_date (calendar date): Date used to calculate the projected depletion date.
Output (visitor-selected quantity unit, days, and packages): Arithmetic estimates based only on visitor entries; assumes constant daily use and does not include reserve stock, waste or package leftovers.
